What Inspires you?

Have you ever had your world shaken up?

Core beliefs challenged?

Maybe a passion you once had has lost its light

My major is Political Science. The reaction I get from most people when I tell them this is troubling, things along the line of,

That sounds like a nightmare, or

Trying a whole lot to change nothing at all huh?

The career I aspire for at the moment is a reporter. I like writing with a purpose, namely educating people. To me, the best thing a work is not convincing, entertaining, or even engaging the audience,

Provoking thought is all that matters.

One of the most common frustrations I have is what perceive as a lack of thought. I will never expect anyone to be swayed by my meager words. My goal is to make them think.

I go through life trying to understand people. I assume that everyone has a least some internal logic for their beliefs. However, I tend to find that people are unable to articulate these things and get frustrated at any opposition. I want to change that. It is the reason I like starting these posts with questions,

And also why I isolate sentences.

I feel a little lost. I feel as if my voice doesn't carry enough. I write these blogs for the obvious requirement but also as a reflection.

People really should think about themselves more.

I wonder if anyone reads these and doesn't respond, please, don't start now if you don't want to. That is not my intent.

Rather, I postulate this simply for my own reflection.

Does it matter if anyone reads this?

Does the idea that people may read this affect my writing?

I implore any reader to think on their own versions of these questions.

Man, they really did call that turtle Snowy, didn't they?

What a weird name for a turtle.

  1. First of all, you have the most unique blog of anyone's I've read so far. Secondly, I think it is very inspiring that your main goal is to provoke thought. I feel that too many people have thoughts baked into their heads, likely by their parents, without any of their own reasoning being involved. I believe that people shouldn't blindly follow what they are told, but they should follow their own beliefs for their own reasons. It seems like you believe that too, which I can appreciate.
